BOT Newsletter- Term 3

Staff training

On Tuesday 11 of our staff attended their First Aid refresher course from 3:15-9pm.  The board pay for a facilitator from Red Cross to work with the staff to ensure they have up to date first aid. Next year another group of staff members will be involved in refreshing their certificates.

PTA

Keep an eye out for the information from the PTA about their Clip ‘n Climb event on 1 September 5-8pm.  More information to come.

Hereora Cluster news

The Principals in the Hereora Cluster are attending a hui in Rotorua next week as part of an educational initiative to work on the ‘hearts and minds’ of leaders in schools.  We are looking forward to this exciting opportunity.

The Hereora Cluster is presenting a movie for all parents on the 25 August at Burnside High School from 7.00pm.  The movie is called ‘Most Likely to Succeed’.  Please click here to view the trailer.  Bookings are essential as there are a number of schools offering this opportunity.  Tickets can be booked through the Hereora Website.

Enrolments

We are encouraging families who are wanting to enrol their child for 2017 to please do so as soon as possible.  The increase in our roll numbers has meant that this information is extremely important for our staffing.

Staffing

Earlier in the week we farewelled Megan Stedman who has worked at Roydvale in a release position one day a week.  Megan has taken on a part time position at Elmwood School. We wish Megan all the best.

Jubilee celebrations

We will be celebrating Roydvale School’s 50 years during the week 1-5 May. At present we are contacting the Royds family and have a copy of the Roydvale School 25th Jubilee.  We look forward to you joining in the celebrations with us.

 

Belongings

Pokēmon Go is proving to be a hit.  We are reminding families that cards, toys and personal belongings are not to come to school. Please keep your cards, toys and special personal belongings at home.
